CHRISTIAN RECOVERY CENTERS

Residential Services for Men and Women

The Men's Program known as Brunswick Christian Recovery Center (BCRC), and the Women's Program known as Rose House, is a long term recovery process that incorporates a faith based recovery theory, the 12-step process as laid out by Alcoholics Anonymous and Celebrate Recovery, Professional Therapy Services, and educational benefits provided through Brunswick Community College. This holistic approach joins the strengths and benefits from many aspects of what a successful life in recovery looks like including the opportunity for:

regular community events, church attendance, group and individual therapy, and healthy work ethic development activities. These activities include community service, leadership training and application, and work based learning opportunities through our WRP program that will allow every graduate to depart from the program with some level of financial gain to assist with the initial cost of a more independent living situation.

   MOTIVATIONAL TRACK

Motivational Track

The Motivational Track at BCRC's men's campus is the initial phase that all residents enter upon admission to the residential program. This time is designed to allow new residents to acclimate to their new environment while bridging the gap between a life of little-to-no structure and their new schedule, which is strictly regulated. Residents in this phase will participate in a schedule that is slightly less rigorous than the main program, and will be provided additional time to rest for their mind and body while they begin the process of physical and emotional healing.

Average time that residents will participate in Occupational Services/Vocational Training:  0% No Occupational Services (Community Service only).

Clinical Attendance (units per week): 1 Individual Therapy, 1 Pastoral Counseling, 1 Resident Meeting, 4 Group Therapy Sessions

   PHASE 1

Phase 1

Following the motivational track our aim is to provide a structured environment that compliments spiritual and emotional growth as well as personal development. Christian Recovery does not offer MAT services in any of its long term residential programs but does work with many facilities that offer these services in the short term for detoxification protocols. Our program encourages residents on their pathway to recovery by working the 12-step program, establishing meaningful roles in their daily living, continuing therapy, counseling sessions, increasing community involvement, adopting higher moral ideals, and adhering to a rigorously structured environment. We have proposed a continuous plan of action that incorporates evidence-based recovery into long-term daily living. Residents will work with temporary sponsors and group leaders to learn how to do a moral inventory, confession of shortcomings, restitution for harm done, and service to others. Contact with family is limited during this time to allow each resident to engage in a more personalized focus and to gain an initial understanding of what kind of life change they are seeking before introducing external influences back into their lives.

Average time that residents will participate in Occupational Services/Vocational Training: 25% ≤ 16 Hours

Clinical Attendance (units per week): 1 Individual Therapy, .5 Pastoral Counseling, 1 Resident Meeting, 3 Group Therapy Sessions

    PHASE 2

Phase 2

After completion of Phase I, each resident will be reviewed by staff and senior residents. The areas of review will include spiritual and emotional growth, personal responsibility, compliance with rules and regulations, trust, willingness, and active recovery. These areas will be addressed to determine where additional improvement is needed and to determine if the resident will be approved to move into Phase II of the program. In Phase II residents will begin to take on more responsibility and will have plenty of opportunities to begin building more trust with the leadership. If a resident determines that they are not ready for Phase II they will have the opportunity to delay the transition for a period of up to 21 days.

Average time that residents will participate in Occupational Services/Vocational Training: 50% ≤ 24 Hours

Clinical Attendance (units per week): .5 Individual Therapy, .5 Pastoral Counseling, .5 Resident Meeting, 2 Group Therapy Sessions

    PHASE 3

Phase 3

During Phase 3 each resident will have an opportunity to spend more time growing as a leader and developing their exit strategy to encourage a heightened sense of confidence in their recovery. We have learned that initiating a well-planned “follow through” is very important to introduce all that one has learned during the program into the rest of their life. Traditional leadership generally involves the accumulation and exercise of power by one at the “top of the pyramid.” By comparison, the servant-leader shares power, puts the needs of others first and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible. We teach and encourage residents to have a servant leadership attitude. Our hope is that every resident will be able to share their positive experience in an active recovery lifestyle with another person as they find success in their future. We believe that the student doesn’t truly learn the lesson until he becomes the teacher.

Average time that residents will participate in Occupational Services/Vocational Training: 75% ≤ 32 Hours

Clinical Attendance (units per week): .5 Individual Therapy, 1 Exit Planning (in place of Resident Meeting), .5 Pastoral Counseling, 1 Group Therapy Session

    PHASE 4

Phase 4

Phase 4 of the Christian Recovery program is designated as the Re-Entry program and is designed to provide a smooth transition for graduates of Phase 3 to continue their recovery process in a structured, safe, and stable environment that, above all, promotes spiritual wellness and sobriety. This portion of the residential program begins to incorporate more personal freedoms and responsibilities as individuals successfully progress through the stages of Phase 4. The Christian Recovery Phase 4 Program is for select residents who wish to take an ongoing active role in their recovery and who feel the need for continued structure with opportunities for employment as they near total independence. Phase 4 is designed to provide a smooth transition from the rigorous demands of the Christian Recovery Center programs and teach residents that a life of sobriety can work hand in hand with a life of productivity. This is achieved through peer role modeling, counseling, and the safeguards of a healthy recovery environment. A Phase 4 application is available to residents who are on their way to successfully completing all other phases. Those who have shown ongoing improvement, a genuine desire to be successful, and a dedication to their spiritual walk and overall recovery will be given priority for entry. Residents who are accepted into Phase 4 will be invited into the program for 6 months and may be given the opportunity to reapply for an additional 6 months. Phase 4 will offer multiple opportunities, and residents will have the ability to choose a trade pathway (as a Social Enterprise Technician) or a career pathway (as a member of the Leadership Development Initiative -LDI). Trade pathways will create immediate employment opportunities within one of our various enterprises, and the LDI will be an intensive training process for developing the future leaders of the Christian Recovery program. LDI participants will receive educational benefits and work towards multiple college-level certifications, state licenses, and may also attend traditional college or seminary classes for the achievement of a formal degree.

Average that residents will participate in Occupational Services/Vocational Training: 95% ≤ 40 Hours

Clinical Attendance (units per week): 25 Individual Therapy, .25 Counseling, .25 Group Therapy Session
