My name is David Brock, and by the grace of God, I am redeemed. Once lost in drug addiction, using worldly struggles to numb my pain, I alienated my family and friends. Homeless and filled with guilt, my lowest point was an overdose. But God intervened, and I woke in a hospital. Broken, I entered Christian Recovery Centers. Detox was a battle, but counselors who had recovered themselves guided me to Jesus through love and Scripture. This recovery program became my sanctuary, filled with prayer and Bible study that opened my heart to God’s forgiveness. Hearing others’ stories of salvation, I surrendered my shame. Psalm 23 became my anchor. I faced the pain I caused my mother and son and sought God’s strength to make amends. By my fourth month, I studied for peer support, trusting God’s plan. Graduation brought tears of praise for His faithfulness. Now, one year sober, I’m a peer counselor at a Christian Recovery Centers, sharing my story to guide others to Christ. Reunited with my children, I’m a father rooted in faith. My life isn’t perfect, but God holds it. If He lifted me from that alley, He can redeem anyone.
